Charlotte Richards has been named to the American Volleyball Coaches (AVCA) Division II Second Team All-America list, as announced Tuesday by the organization, while senior outside hitter
Selena Nolte and sophomore libero
Megan Woll were honorable mention picks.
The trio joins just one other player in program history to earn All-America status, joining Chelsea Burkle, who was an honorable mention selection in 2013.
Richards, a First Team AVCA All-Region and First Team All-GLVC honoree, ranks 45
th in NCAA DII with 3.71 kills per set and is 53
rd with 4.18 points per set. She finished the year with 434 total kills, 35
th most nationally. Richards also averaged 2.74 digs per set and recorded 32 service aces.
Nolte, an Honorable Mention AVCA All-Region and First Team All-GLVC pick, ranks 61
st in NCAA DII in kills per set with 3.60 and was 35
th with 436 total kills. She graduates as the program's all-time career kills leader (1,469).
Woll, a First Team AVCA All-Region and First Team All-GLVC selection, who was also tabbed as the GLVC Libero of the Year, ranks 31
st in NCAA DII in digs per set with 5.47. Her program single season record of 667 digs ranks 13
th nationally.
The three players helped UMSL to a 29-5 record and one of its most successful seasons in program history. The Tritons began the year 12-0 for the first time ever and finished with the most wins since 1991. They advanced to the GLVC Tournament championship game for the first time in program history and earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament for just the fourth time in program history and the first since 2010.
