EAST PEORIA, ILL. – The No. 22 ranked and third-seeded University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team came up short in its first GLVC Tournament championship match appearance on Sunday, falling in five sets to top-seeded and No. 21 ranked Rockhurst. The Hawks won by set scores of 25-16, 15-25, 25-13, 21-25, 15-6 to defend their GLVC crown and snap the Tritons' nine match win streak.
UMSL will now prep for the NCAA Regional Tournament, which begins December 5. The Tritons, who will be making their first postseason appearance since 2010, will learn who and where they play on Monday night when the NCAA unveils the bracket at 6:30 p.m. on

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Rockhurst hit .256 in the match and held a 14-11 blocking advantage, while the Tritons hit .139.
- The Hawks recorded eight blocks in the first set and finished the frame on an 11-3 run.
- UMSL scored five straight in the second to take a 15-11 lead before extending it to 21-14 to even the match at 1-1.
- Rockhurst hit .423 in the third set, while the Tritons were limited to just a -.032 clip.
- UMSL rallied back from an 18-16 deficit in the fourth set, in which they hit .361.
- The Hawks jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the decisive set and led 8-3 at the switch.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Senior
Selena Nolte recorded a team-high 16 kills to lead four Triton players in double figures.
- Sophomore
Charlotte Richards added 13 kills, 12 digs and two aces.
- Freshman
Raquel Kessler also finished with 13 kills, while hitting .458 and tallied six blocks.
- Senior
Kylie Rudsinski followed with 11 kills and four blocks.
- Junior
Payton Kennelly dished out 46 assists and added nine digs and four blocks.
- Sophomore
Megan Woll recorded 31 digs and for the second straight year, broke the program's single season record. Woll topped her mark of 620 last season with 643 this year.
