Thorngren Named Honorable Mention All-American; Joined by Ivanova on All-Region Team

CORAL SPRINGS, FLA. – University of Missouri-St. Louis sophomore Emma Thorngren of the women's golf team has been named to the WGCA Honorable Mention All-America Team, as announced today by the Association.
 
Thorngren was also named to the 10-member All-East Division Team along with senior Stefaniya Ivanova.
 
Thorngren, the program's only All-American, is a repeat selection, having also earned the honor last season. She posted a scoring average of 75.63, which ranks second on the single season charts, and recorded 10 top-10 finishes, including five in the top five. Thorngren earned a fifth place finish at the NCAA DII Championships, shooting a school record 293 (71-78-72-72), was third at the NCAA Regional and sixth at the GLVC Championships. She also recorded a pair of runner-up finishes during the regular season, including at the Triton Invitational, in which she tied the school's 18-hole record of 69.
 
Ivanova closed out her collegiate career with a career-best 76.28 average and owned eight top-10 finishes, including four in the top five. She was seventh at the GLVC Championships, 15th at the NCAA Regionals and 39th at the NCAA DII Championships.
 
Ivanova, a four-time All-GLVC selection, graduates third on the program's career scoring average charts (77.88) and owns records for rounds played (113) and birdies (195).
 
The duo helped UMSL to a program-best sixth place finish at the NCAA Championships and a school record 305.19 scoring average. The Tritons had 10 top-10 finishes during the year.
