Triton Student-Athletes Record 3.3 GPA in Spring Semester

ST. LOUIS, MO. — While the University of Missouri-St. Louis athletic teams were successful in their respective sports this past semester, the Tritons were equally as impressive in the classroom as the nearly 200 student-athletes combined to boast a cumulative grade point average of 3.3.

Additionally, 12 of 13 athletic teams earned at least a 3.0 GPA, while 78 percent of student-athletes did the same. There were also 26 who recorded straight As in their spring classes.

Another impressive statistic is that the top three team GPAs were by teams who all qualified for the NCAA Championships, including women's golf, which led the department with a 3.611 GPA, while recording a program-best sixth-place national finish. The men's golf team followed with a 3.589 GPA and recorded a 13th place finish at the NCAA Championships, while the women's tennis team produced a 3.582 GPA and advanced to the national quarterfinals for the first time in program history.
