SPRINGFIELD, MO. - The No. 48 ranked University of Missouri-St. Louis men's tennis team lost a 5-2 decision to Southern Indiana on Friday in quarterfinal round action of the GLVC Tournament.
The Screaming Eagles swept doubles, which included a 9-8 (7-5) victory at No. 2 over No. 38 ranked
Ben-Hur Kasprzak and
Milan Kovacs, who had a five-match win streak snapped.
UMSL scored its two points at Nos. 1 and 2 singles. Kasprzak won his 11th straight match at the top spot, bouncing back from a first set loss, while
Vitor Monteiro won at No. 2.
The Tritons (12-4) will now wait and see if they earn a spot in the NCAA Tournament when the field is announced Monday night. UMSL has been ranked eighth in the region in all three regional polls with the top eight earning a spot.
