ROMEOVILLE, ILL. – The No. 48 ranked University of Missouri-St. Louis men's tennis team lost a 5-0 decision to No. 21 ranked Indianapolis on Saturday morning in the GLVC Tournament semifinals.
The Greyhounds, the top seed in the East Division, swept all three doubles before winning at Nos. 1 and 2 singles. UMSL, the No. 2 seed in the West Division, falls to 17-5 overall, with all five losses coming to fellow nationally ranked teams. UIndy improves to 16-2 with its 10
th straight win and will face either Drury or Southern Indiana in tomorrow's championship match.
The match was originally scheduled to be played at Noon outdoors, but rain in Romeoville forced the contest indoors early this morning.
The Tritons will now await word from the NCAA on Tuesday, May 3 if they earn a spot in the national tournament. UMSL was No. 7 in the latest Midwest Regional rankings with the top seven teams clinching a spot. The selection show will be streamed live on ncaa.com at 7 p.m.
