ROMEOVILLE, ILL. - The No. 48 ranked University of Missouri-St. Louis men's tennis team opened play in the GLVC Tournament on Friday with a 5-3 victory over Lewis in one of four quarterfinal matches.
The win advances the No. 2 West seeded Tritons to tomorrow's semifinals against No. 21 ranked and No. 1 East seed Indianapolis at 9 a.m.
UMSL took a 2-1 lead after doubles and extended the lead to 3-1 with junior
Dario Vidaurre's win at No. 6 singles. The Flyers knotted the match at 3-3 with wins at Nos. 1 and 3 singles, but freshmen
Robert White and
Max Heath won at Nos. 4 and 5 singles, respectively for the victory.
The Tritons improve to 17-4 overall, while Lewis slips to 12-9.
