KANSAS CITY, MO. – University of Missouri-St. Louis senior defender
Kayla Delgado has been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Midwest Region First Team.
A Second Team All-GLVC pick earlier this season, Delgado earns NSCAA All-Region honors for the second straight year after being named a third team selection at forward last year. This year, in her move to the backfield, she helped the defense to a goals against average of 0.83 with four shutouts. Delgado also scored a goal in a 3-1 win at Saint Joseph's and recorded three assists.
Delgado helped UMSL to a 13-5-1 overall record, the most wins in program history since 2003. The Tritons also earned their second straight NCAA Tournament bid and defeated Rockhurst, 1-0, in double overtime in the first round, giving the program its first NCAA win since 1982.
