INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team had six players earn All-Great Lakes Valley Conference honors, as announced tonight at a reception on the eve of the GLVC Championship Tournament.
Senior back
Kayla Delgado was a second team selection, while senior midfielder
Kirsten Crabtree, sophomore forward
McKayla Harder, junior back
Emily Mosier, senior forward
Miriam Taylor and senior midfielder
Taylor Tosovsky were all named to the third team.
Kayla Delgado
A repeat selection to the All-GLVC Second Team, Delgado was honored as a forward last season. This year, in her move to the backfield, she helped the defense to a goals against average of 0.73 with three shutouts, including a scoreless draw at GLVC regular season champion Truman State. Delgado also scored a goal in a 3-1 win at Saint Joseph's and recorded three assists.
Kirsten Crabtree
In her lone season with the Tritons, Crabtree started 13 of the 16 games she played in, scoring goals in two of UMSL's last three games, including the game-winner against Quincy in a 2-0 victory.
McKayla Harder
A repeat selection to the All-GLVC Third Team, Harder scored a team-high seven goals and added two assists for 16 points. Two of her goals came in a 3-2 win over Lewis, while she has also scored one goal in each of the last three games. Harder scored six goals in GLVC games, tying for third-most in the league.
Emily Mosier
A mainstay at center back, Mosier helped the defense to a goals against average of 0.73 with three shutouts, including a scoreless draw at GLVC regular season champion Truman State. Mosier also ranks third on the team in scoring with 10 points on four goals and two assists.
Miriam Taylor
A First Team All-GLVC honoree a year ago, Taylor has netted six goals, including five game-winners, and has also recorded four assists for 16 points. Of her 26 shots attempted this season, 16 have been on goal for a percentage of 0.615. One of her game-winners came in overtime against Lewis to help the Tritons to a 3-2 win. Taylor also scored two of UMSL's three goals in last Sunday's 3-1 GLVC Tournament quarterfinal round victory over UW-Parkside. In GLVC-only games, Taylor's four game-winners is second, while her four assists tied the fourth-most.
Taylor Tosovsky
Tosovsky has started all 16 games in the midfield, where she is the co-team leader with four assists and also has two goals for eight points. Her goal in a 2-1 win at Missouri S&T was the game-winner, while her four GLVC regular season assists ties the fourth-most.
Harder was additionally recognized as one of 16 James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award honorees. The student-athletes chosen are individuals who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. These individuals must also be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting. The honorees are now eligible to become one of their school's two Spalding Sportsmanship Award winners, which will be announced at the end of the academic year.
UMSL, which is currently 12-3-1 overall, finished GLVC play with an 11-3-1 record to garner the No. 3 seed in the postseason tournament. The Tritons defeated UW-Parkside last Sunday to advance to Friday's semifinals against second-seeded Rockhurst at 12 p.m. (EST).
UMSL's 11 GLVC wins are a program best, while it's 12 wins are the most since the 2007 team also won 12 games.
