EVANSVILLE, IND. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's soccer team saw its season end with a 1-0 loss at Southern Indiana on Sunday in quarterfinal round action of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament.
The three-seeded Screaming Eagles netted the game-winner at the 80:10 mark when Stephen Tuma shot from 25 yards out as the sixth-seeded Tritons tried to clear the ball after a shot.
UMSL finishes the 2016 campaign with a 10-7-1 mark, while Southern Indiana, which avenged a regular season 2-1 loss to the Tritons, improves to 13-2-3 and advances to Friday's semifinals.
UMSL finished with eight shots, including five on goal, while the Screaming Eagles took nine shots, placing four on goal. The two teams combined for just four first half shots, including three from the Tritons.
