KANSAS CITY, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's tennis team advanced to the GLVC Tennis Championships for the second straight year with a 5-4 win over Bellarmine in quarterfinal round action on Friday morning.
 
The Tritons, which lost a 5-4 decision to Bellarmine in the first match of the spring season in February, won at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles before taking wins at Nos. 1, 3 and 4 singles.
 
Senior Leanne Cantalupo and junior All-GLVC honoree Natalia Carvalhais teamed together for an 8-5 win at No. 2 doubles before winning their respective singles matches with Cantalupo at No. 4 and Carvalhais at No. 3.
 
The deciding match came down to No. 1 singles, where senior Lina Parra defeated Evann Washuk 6-1, 3-6, 6-4.
 
UMSL improves to 10-7 overall and will face Indianapolis on Saturday morning at 9 a.m.
