WEEKLY REWIND…


Softball
The Tritons went 3-2 last weekend at the GLVC Softball Tournament in East Peoria, Ill. After dropping its first game last Thursday, UMSL won three straight elimination games to advance to Sunday's semifinal contest where its run ended with a 1-0 loss in eight innings to top seeded UIndy. Annie Scaramuzzi went 2-2 in the circle with a 1.31 ERA striking out 41 hitters in 32 innings pitched. Megan Brown hit .375 with a double and two RBI.

Track and Field
The Tritons men's and women's track and field teams competed at the GLVC Outdoor Track and Field Championships this past weekend. Benjamin VandenBrink and Jacob Warner earned All-GLVC honors with their second and third place finish in the 5,000 meters on Saturday afternoon. Warner also finished fourth in the 10,000 last Thursday. The men finished 10th overall with a total of 19 points. Kayley Heeter and Lily Wagemann were the highest finishers on the women side finishing 11th and 12th respectively in the 1,500 meter final on Saturday.

Baseball
The Tritons wrapped their 2023 season dropping four straight to Illinois Springfield this past weekend. Andrew Buescher hit .400 in the series with a pair of home runs and had four runs batted in. Leighton Keller hit .385 with two doubles. Jack Rhodes made two appearances on the mound going 0-1 with 2.08 ERA with a pair of strikeouts.
