Four Tritons Compete on Second Day of GLVC Outdoor Track and Field Championships

ROLLA, Mo. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's and women's track and field teams had four individuals compete on the second day of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday at Allgood-Bailey Stadium in Rolla, Mo.

For the women, Haeley Johnson competed in the long jump and 100 meters. She finished 13th in the long jump. Her best jump came in her first attempt as she leapt 4.64 meters (15'2.75"). She had a jump of 4.57 meters (15'0.00") in her second attempt and fouled in her third attempt and missed the cut for the finals.

Johnson came back later in the afternoon and ran in the first heat of 100 meters. She finished sixth in her heat with a personal best time of 13.03 seconds. Johnson finished 17th overall in the event.

Dominica Rooks, running in heat two, finished 14th in the 400 meters in a time of 1:04.94.

On the men's side, Gavin Love and Michael Wright ran in the 800 meters. Love, running in heat three, finished fifth in his heat and 11th overall with a time of 1:58.46 while Wright, running in heat two, was third in his heat in a time of 1:58.74 to finish 12th overall.

The final day of the GLVC Outdoor Track and Field Championships gets underway on Saturday morning with field events beginning at 9 a.m. while the running events are scheduled to get underway at 12 p.m.
