ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's and women's track and field teams had 20 top 20 performances at Missouri S&T's Dewey Allgood Hexagonal on Saturday at Allgood-Bailey Stadium in Rolla, Mo.
On the women's side, the Tritons had 10 top 20 finishes led by
Haeley Johnson's second place finish in the long jump. She jumped 4.79 meters (15'8.75") in her first jump. Johnson also finished fourth in the 100 meters with a time of 13.46 seconds and was 10th in the 200 meters in a time of 29.53 seconds.
Dominica Rooks took sixth in the 400 meters at 1:06.54 and was eighth in the 200 with a time of 28.92 seconds.
UMSL had five runners finish in the top 15 of the 1500 meters led by
Lily Wagemann who was eighth in a time of 5:11.32.
Kayley Heeter came in 10th at 5:17.45 while
Megan McMillen,
Peyton Brueck and
Ella Tynan were 12th, 13th and 14th with times of 5:35.27, 5:35.40 and 5:51.53 respectively.
The Triton men also had 10 top 20 finishes on Saturday and were led by
Benjamin VandenBrink and
Jacob Warner as they finished second and third in the 1500 with times of 3:59.02 and 4:00.77 respectively.
Brett Lynch,
Matthias Shelp,
Sam Savastino,
Sean Ede and
Donald Mahoney also ran in the 1500. Lynch finished 13th with a time of 4:11.61, Shelp was right behind him at 4:14.50, Savastino finished 16th in a time of 4:17.85, Ede was 18th coming in at 4:22.79 and Mahoney took 20th in a time of 4:57.52.
Gavin Love took fourth and
Michael Wright was 12th in the 800 meters. Love touched the line at 2:00.67 while Wright came in at 2:07.46.
UMSL returns to the track this Friday (April 28) competing at the Millikin Big Blue Friday Night Invite in Decatur, Ill.
