ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's and women's track and field teams resumed their seasons on Saturday competing at the John Craft Invite hosted by Eastern Illinois at the Lantz Indoor Fieldhouse in Charleston, Ill.
Benjamin VandenBrink and
Toby Middleton were the top finishers on the men's side for the Tritons. VandenBrink finished fifth in the 3,000 meters with a time of 8:49.55 while Middleton took sixth at 8:52.14.
Brett Lynch was 15th in the mile run with a time of 4:41.40 and
Matthias Shelp came in 17th at 4:47.57.
For the women,
Kennedy Moore was the top finisher as she came in sixth in the 200 meters with a time of 28.26 seconds while
Dominica Rooks finished eighth at 28.77 seconds.
Haeley Johnson took seventh in the 60 meters with a time of 8.37 seconds and was 11th in the 200 meters at 30.01 seconds.
Kayley Heeter,
Lily Wagemann and
Peyton Brueck finished 11th, 12th and 14th in the mile with times of 5:59.55, 6:03.53 and 6:13.38 respectively.
Ella Tynan was 16th with a time of 6:16.60.
The Tritons return to the track next Saturday as they travel to Maryville, Mo., to compete in the Northwest Open at the Hughes Fieldhouse beginning at 12 p.m.
