Volleyball Signs Meyer and Miller in Early Period

ST. LOUIS, MO. - University of Missouri-St. Louis head volleyball coach Ryan Young has announced the signing of Lindsay Meyer (New Haven, Mo.) and Hannah Miller (Marion, Iowa) to national letters of intent to join the Tritons program beginning with the 2012-13 academic year.

Meyer preps at Washington High School, where she was a two-time first team all-conference and a two-time second team all-district selection. She also earned first team all-area honors twice and was a second team all-conference selection as a sophomore. Meyer is also a three-time academic all-conference honoree.

“Lindsay is a very good and technical setter,” said Young. “She has the opportunity to come in and make a contribution to our team right away. I am excited to see how much she can help our team throughout her career.”

Miller averaged 3.5 kills per set, while owning a kill efficiency of .400 as a senior at Marion High School. Her 375 kills during the regular season also ranked fifth in Iowa Class 3A.

As a junior, she earned first team all-conference, all-metro and all-district honors, while being selected honorable mention all-state.

“Hannah is a very skilled volleyball player that will help our team in multiple areas,” said Young. “She is a versatile player that can play multiple positions, which is great for us. She will contribute mostly as a middle blocker and we are excited to get her in and start working with her. Her biggest strength is her blocking - she has great form and good awareness at the net. I’m excited to see what Hannah can bring to our team and am very excited about her potential.”
