Volleyball Bows Out of GLVC Tourney With 3-0 Loss to Lewis

INDIANAPOLIS, IND., November 9, 2007 – The University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team saw its 2007 season come to an end with a 3-0 loss to No. 23 ranked Lewis in the GLVC Tournament Friday. Game scores in favor of the Flyers were 30-25, 30-18, 30-21.

The Tritons finish the season 14-19, while Lewis improves to 24-3 and moves on to face the winner of the Drury vs. SIU Edwardsville match, slated for later this afternoon.

Junior Christy Trame (Highland, Ill./Highland) paced UMSL with eight kills, while freshman Elizabeth Cook (Kansas City, Mo./Archbishop) finished with seven kills.

Junior Chelsea Baumstark (Hermann, Mo./Hermann) added six kills and committed just one error in 13 attempts for a .385 hitting percentage.

The Tritons hit .172 as a team, while recording 34 kills. Lewis hit at a .313 clip and tallied 61 kills.

Junior Lisa Brinker (Washington, Mo./Washington) dished out 32 assists for the Tritons, while senior Heather Nichols (Black Earth, Wis./Edgewood) had a team-high 16 digs.
