October 26, 2007KANSAS CITY, MO., October 26, 2007 – The University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team fell victim to a hot-hitting Rockhurst team Friday night in Great Lakes Valley Conference action and dropped a 3-0 decision to the host Hawks, 30-17, 30-26, 30-16.
Rockhurst hit at a .333 clip, while racking up 54 kills in the match. The Hawks held UMSL to just .092 hitting and 37 kills. The Tritons, who began a four-match road swing with the contest, fell to 12-17, including 8-8 in the GLVC.
Rockhurst also out blocked UMSL, 11-5, and improved to 18-10 overall and 10-5 in conference play.
Junior Christy Trame (Highland, Ill./Highland) was the lone Triton to reach double figures in kills, finishing with 12 on the night. Freshman Elizabeth Cook (Kansas City, Mo./Archbishop O’Hara) recorded nine kills while playing in front of her hometown crowd.
Junior Lisa Brinker (Washington, Mo./Washington) dished out 36 assists, while senior Heather Nichols (Black Earth, Wis./Edgewood) tallied 15 digs.
