Biography:
2009: Started team-high 11 contests… recorded a team-best 50 strikeouts and was second in innings pitched (54.1)… finished with a 2-4 record and a 7.24 ERA… picked up first win of the season at Southern Indiana, striking out eight, while allowing just three runs on three hits… also struck out eight at Indianapolis in 4.2 innings of work… recorded win in just two innings on mound against Webster… struck out seven in no-decision effort against Henderson State… scattered just two hits, while striking out five in 5.2 innings against Drury in no-decision.

Before UMSL: Played two years at Jefferson County Community College for head coach Sam Carel… recipient of the Viking Award, presented to player for exemplifying Jeff Co baseball on and off the field.

High School: Played three years at West Plains High School for head coach Greg Dixon… recorded an 8-2 mark on the mound as a senior, while throwing a school record 94 strikeouts… recorded a 2.18 ERA.

Personal: Born December 30, 1987… son of Donnie and Lynda Acklin… majoring in liberal studies.
