WOMENS VOLLEYBALL | OVERVIEW | |  November 24, 2009ST. LOUIS, MO. – Sophomore Weslie Gaff of the University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team has been named First Team All-Midwest Region by Daktronics, Inc., in a vote of the Midwest Region’s sports information directors, as announced today.
Additionally, Gaff was also named an honorable mention all-Midwest Region choice by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).
Gaff, who earned first team all-Great Lakes Valley Conference honors earlier this season, was the Tritons’ leader in hitting percentage (.332) and blocks (1.07 bpg) and ranked third on the team in kills (2.41). Nationally, in all of NCAA Division II, she ranks 32nd in blocks and 48th in hitting percentage.
Gaff’s .332 hitting percentage was the seventh best single season total in program history, while her 122 blocks this season were the eighth best single season total. She also ranks third all-time in program history in hitting percentage (.317) and seventh in block solos (68).
Gaff helped UMSL to a 21-11 record this year – its second straight 20-win season – and an 11-3 third place finish in the GLVC.
