Women's Tennis Falls in Opener

ST. LOUIS, MO. - The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's tennis team lost a 7-2 verdict to visiting Indianapolis Monday in the Tritons' first match of the 2010-11 season.

Freshman Louisa Werner and senior Aya Gombo recorded the lone points for UMSL, winning at Nos. 1 and 2, respectively.

Werner was a 6-2, 6-2 winner, while Gombo picked up a 7-5, 6-3 victory.

UMSL returns to action September 17-19, competing in the Wilson/ITA Regional in Allendale, Mich.
