 October 01, 2008ST. LOUIS, MO. – With his two wins in last weekend’s Wilson/ITA Great Lakes Regional, senior Peter Hantack of the University of Missouri-St. Louis men’s tennis team became the all-time singles wins leader in school history.
Hantack, who sports a career record of 54-25, playing anywhere from Nos. 3-6, surpassed Frances Lam, who recorded 53 wins from 2003-07.
Hantack tied the record with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Grand Valley State’s Matt Globerson in his first match at the ITA Regional and broke the record with a 6-2, 7-5 upset win over 13th-seeded J.D. Greenlee of Indianapolis.
Hantack posted a 12-8 record in his first year for the Tritons before going 16-8 as a sophomore. Last season, he recorded a 22-7 mark and stands at 4-2 this season.
UMSL will close out its fall schedule at the Billiken Classic, hosted by Saint Louis University, this weekend.
