Men's Golf in 17th Place at Regional

SCORING

NOBLESVILLE, IND. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men’s golf team stands in 17th place after the first round of the Great Lakes Regional #3 being played at the Purgatory Golf Club.

The Tritons shot a round one score of 311 on the 72-par, 7,100-yard course. Grand Valley State leads all 19 teams with a 282 first round score.

Individually for UMSL, junior Matt Winslow shot a 38 and 36 for a 74 total and is tied for 23rd. Sophomore Tim Swoboda (37-40 77) is tied for 49th, while junior Matt Thomas (40-40 80) is tied for 72nd. Freshman Tim Cochran (43-37 80) is tied for 72nd and freshman Ryan Penfield (41-40 81) is tied for 80th to round out the Tritons’ scoring.

Grand Valley State’s Josh Orler is the individual leader with rounds of 32 and 35 for a five under par 67 total.

Round two concludes tomorrow.
