Softball to Face Northern Kentucky in GLVC Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team will make its third straight trip to the 2010 Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament, which begins Friday and continues through Sunday at the Eastside Centre in Peoria, Ill.

The Tritons will be the fifth seed in the field of eight and will take on fourth seed Northern Kentucky in first round action Friday at 10 a.m. The winner advances on to face the winner of the No. 1 seed Indianapolis vs. No. 8 seed Southern Indiana contest, while the loser will face either No. 2 Quincy or No. 7 seed Wisconsin-Parkside in an elimination game.

Northern Kentucky took both games of a doubleheader from UMSL earlier this season, winning 10-8 and 8-0 (5) in Highland Heights, Ky.

The Norse enter the tournament with a 31-16 overall record and a 19-8 record in the GLVC, while the Tritons are 26-18 overall and finished the league campaign with a 15-11 mark.
