February 22, 2010INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – Senior catcher Katie Bartlett (Des Moines, Iowa/Roosevelt High School) of the University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week.
Bartlett guided the Tritons to a 3-1 record last weekend by hitting .571 with six RBIs and scored four runs.
She was 1-for-3 with a home run in the Tritons’ 4-3 loss to Union (Tenn.) on Friday before helping her squad rebound from the loss with a 9-0 victory over William Woods in the nightcap. In the win, Bartlett was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
She returned on Saturday to help UMSL to a pair of victories. UMSL avenged its loss to Union with a 6-5 win over the Bulldogs with Bartlett delivering a 2-for-4 effort at the plate with two RBIs. She closed out the weekend with a 3-for-4 performance, including a double and an RBI in the Tritons’ 15-5 win over William Woods.
Bartlett also finished the week with a slugging percentage of .857.
UMSL returns to action this weekend, traveling to Arkadelphia, Ark., for the Henderson State Hot Springs Classic.
