ST. LOUIS, MO., October 20, 2009 – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women’s soccer team closed out a four-game home stand with a 4-0 loss to visiting SIU Edwardsville Tuesday night in non-conference action.
The Tritons, which will close out the regular season with a road swing Friday at Bellarmine and Sunday at Northern Kentucky, drop to 4-9-1 on the season, while the Cougars move to 2-8-2.
SIUE, formerly a Great Lakes Valley Conference foe and now an NCAA Division I member, took a 3-0 lead into halftime, scoring three goals in a 12-minute span, and added to the final score late in the second half.
The Tritons were held to just four shots, landing one on goal, while SIUE fired 14 shots, placing five on target. Senior Anne Nesbit led UMSL with a pair of shots.
Senior keeper Amy Boehm played all 90 minutes in goal, recording one save.
