Drury Hands Women's Soccer 4-1 Loss

SPRINGFIELD, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women’s soccer team traveled to Drury Friday night in Great Lakes Valley Conference action, falling to the host Panthers, 4-1.

The loss drops the Tritons to 2-6-1 on the season, including 2-5-1 in the GLVC, while Drury improves to 9-2 overall and 6-1 in the league.

The Panthers wasted no time notching their first goal, scoring in the seventh minute on their first shot attempt of the game. Drury finished the game out-shooting UMSL, 13-5, and held the Tritons to just one shot on goal, while recording eight shots on goal.

Sophomore keeper Hanna Sayre played all 90 minutes in goal, tallying four saves.

Drury took a 2-0 lead into halftime after adding a goal in the 34th minute before tacking on two more goals in the second half.

Senior Danielle Dahm put the Tritons on the board in the 83rd minute on an assist from senior Anne Nesbit.

Senior Sarah Stone led UMSL with two shots.

UMSL returns to action Sunday, traveling to Missouri S&T for a conference contest at 12 p.m.
