Women's Tennis Bows Out of GLVC Tourney With 5-1 Loss

ST. LOUIS, MO. - The No. 6 seeded University of Missouri-St. Louis women's tennis team bowed out of the 2009 Great Lakes Valley Conference Tennis Tournament with a 5-1 loss to No. 3 seed Rockhurst Friday afternoon in quaterfinal round action.

The Tritons earned its lone point with an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles from Pujitha Bandi and Stephanie Thompson. However, the Hawks would win Nos. 2 and 3 doubles before claiming singles victories at Nos. 2, 4 and 5 to record the match victory.

UMSL ends its season at 8-10, while Rockhurst advances to the semifinals with a 17-9 mark.
