Men's Soccer Notches Third Straight Win

ST. LOUIS, MO. – Junior Jack McKenna and senior Blair Spencer each notched goals as the University of Missouri-St. Louis men’s soccer team earned a 2-0 victory over Great Lakes Valley Conference foe Southern Indiana Friday night in league play.

McKenna gave UMSL a 1-0 lead in the 38th minute when he scored off a deflection on a USI defender for his team-leading sixth goal of the year. Spencer then went one-on-one with a Screaming Eagle, taking the ball into the back of an empty net for the 2-0 win.

It was the third straight win for the Tritons, who improve to 7-5-2 on the season, including 5-4-2 in the GLVC. Southern Indiana slips to 3-10-1 and 3-9-1 in the conference.

The Tritons took 16 shots, landing nine on goal, with Spencer and junior Alex Agne each firing two shots. The Screaming Eagles fired nine shots, with two landing on goal.

Sophomore keeper Tim Boruff registered two saves, playing all 90 minutes in the net for UMSL.

The Tritons close out the home portion of their schedule Sunday, hosting Kentucky Wesleyan at 2:30 p.m. UMSL will honor its 10 seniors prior to the start of the contest.
