ST. LOUIS, MO. - Visiting Indianapolis scored a pair of goals in a two-minute 11-second span early in the second half en route to a 3-1 victory over the University of Missouri-St. Louis men's soccer team Sunday afternoon in Great Lakes Valley Conference action, spoiling the Tritons’ home opener.

UMSL senior Kyle Wogetch put the Tritons on the board first and helped his team to a 1-0 halftime advantage when he found the back of the net on a rebound off a free kick by junior Johnny O’Mara in the 40th minute. Greyhounds keeper Justin Roberts got a hand on O’Mara’s kick before Wogtech picked up the rebound and dropped it for his first goal of the season. It was O’Mara’s second assist of the year.

UIndy then tied the game in the 53rd minute when Roger Lee dibbled the ball past Tritons keeper Adam Giesegh from five yards out in front of the net. Giesegh then misplayed a shot by UIndy’s Corey Nelson at the 55:06 mark. Giesegh appeared to have the save, but the shot came off top of his hands and dropped into the back of the net.

The Greyhounds added an insurance goal in the 88th minute, scoring off a corner kick.

UMSL slips to 1-1 with the loss and 0-1 in the GLVC, while Indianapolis moves to 1-1 overall and 1-0 in the league.

Despite the loss, the Tritons out-shot their opponents, 17-13, including 10-9 in shots on goal. Giesegh allowed all three goals, playing the full 90 minutes in goal, recording six saves.

UMSL returns to action Friday, traveling to Wisconsin-Parkside for a 1:15 pm GLVC contest.
