COLUMBUS, IND. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men’s golf team earned a ninth place finish at the 2009 Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Golf Championships, held Thursday and Friday at the Otter Creek Golf Course in Columbus, Ind.
The Tritons finished the three-round event with scores of 314, 309 and 300 for a 923, finishing 59 strokes over par on the 72-par, 6,897-yard course.
Indianapolis shot an even 864 to take team honors and was followed by Northern Kentucky (884), Bellarmine (897), Drury (903), Southern Indiana (910), Lewis (914), Rockhurst (917), Wisconsin-Parkside (922), UMSL (923), St. Joseph’s (945), Kentucky Wesleyan (945) and Quincy (1,024).
Individually for the Tritons, Tim Cochran and Matt Winslow tied for 21st place, shooting 229. Ryan Penfield and Tim Swoboda each fired a 233 for 33rd place, while Padraic Kerr was 46th with a 240.
Indianapolis’ Justin Hueber earned medalist honors with a 209, seven strokes under par. Return To Articles
