Men's Golf Sits in 7th Place After Day One at NKU Invite

GEORGETOWN, KY. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men’s golf team finished the first day of the Northern Kentucky University Spring Regional at Cherry Blossom Golf Course in a tie for seventh place out of 21 teams.

The Tritons, which fired a first round score of 293, are led by junior Matt Thomas, who posted an even par first round. Junior Matt Winslow and sophomore Tim Swoboda carded one over par 73, while freshman Ryan Penfield rounded out the UMSL scoring with a 75. Freshman Tim Cochran’s score of 77 was dropped from the team scoring as only the top four out of five scores comprise the team total.

Northern Kentucky leads all teams with a 284.

The invitational concludes tomorrow.
