Men's Golf Takes 14th Place at The Jewell

GEORGETOWN, KY. - The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's golf team earned a 14th place in the 24-team field at The Jewell/Regional #2 Friday and Saturday at the Cherry Blossom Golf Club.

The Tritons shot rounds of 294 and 315 for a 609, finishing 33 strokes over par. Indianapolis finished 14 strokes under par (562) to claim the team title.

Junior Matt Rau led UMSL with a three strokes over par performance. Rau tied for 18th place, shooting a 147 (73-74), while junior Tim Cochran was close behind with a 149 (73-76) to finish in a tie for 21st place.

Junior Ryan Penfield tied for 55th, shooting a 153 (70-83), while junior Matt McKiernan fired a 160 (78-82) to come in a tie for 96th place.

UMSL will be back in action next week at the Great Lakes Regional #3 in Noblesville, Ind.
