ST. LOUIS, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men’s golf team earned a 16th place finish at the Dallas Baptist Patriot Invitational, held Monday and Tuesday at the Golf Club of Dallas.
The Tritons fired rounds of 305 and 299 for a score of 909. Oklahoma City University and Midwestern State led the 20-team field with a score of 878. Midwestern State won the playoff to take the team title.
Pacing UMSL were juniors Ryan Penfield (74-73-75 222) and Matt Rau (76-70-76 222) who tied for 21st. Junior Tim Cochran (75-72-76 223) tied for 31st, while junior Matt McKiernan (80-84-78 242) came in 42nd. Rounding out the scoring was Johnny O’Mara (0-101-113 214) in his first golf meet.
Dallas Baptist’s Will Dusenbury finished one over par with a 211 to earn medalist honors.
