ST. LOUIS, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men’s basketball team dropped a 76-61 verdict to visiting Quincy Saturday night in Great Lakes Valley Conference action. The contest was the home finale for the Tritons and also the final home game for seniors David Ward, Paul De Chellis and Paul Paradoski.
Quincy outscored the Tritons, 41-26, in the second half to break free from a 35-35 halftime tie en route to the victory.
Junior Tim Green led four Triton players in double figures with 14 points. Junior Adam Kaatman added 12, while Paradoski and Ward each chipped in 10.
Ward also collected a team-high seven rebounds, while Green dished out five assists.
UMSL led 32-22 with 3:26 left in the first half, but saw the Hawks finish the half with a 13-3 run.
The Tritons finished the game shooting 43.2 percent from the floor, while Quincy shot an even 44 percent. The Hawks were led by Excell Hardy’s game-high 28 points, including seven three-pointers.
UMSL committed 14 turnovers and were outscored, 18-10, in points off turnovers.
The Tritons return to action Thursday at Drury. Game time is set for 7:45 p.m.
