September 20, 2009EVANSVILLE, IND. - The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's golf team sits in eighth place after day one of the Screaming Eagles Golf Classic hosted by Southern Indiana at the Cambridge Golf Club.
The Tritons put together a team score of 341, to sit 32 strokes behind leader Indianapolis (309) in the 11 team field.
Individually for UMSL, senior Amie Koerner is tied for 22nd (40-42 82), while junior Clara Vila (43-41 84) and freshman freshman Shweta Galande (45- 39 84) are tied for 29th. Rounding out the Tritons' top five are senior Leslie Fischer (44- 47 91), who is tied for 50th and junior Carly Ball (50- 46 96) who is tied for 56th.
Lyndsay McBride and Allison Tyler, both of Indianapolis shot a 74 to lead the individual race.
The final 18 holes will be played tomorrow with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
