GAME TWO
O’FALLON, MO. – Senior Scott Lavelock delivered two home runs over the left field fence to help the University of Missouri-St. Louis baseball team to a 13-5 victory over Indianapolis in the second game of a doubleheader Saturday afternoon in Great Lakes Valley Conference action at TR Hughes Ballpark. UIndy won the opener, 5-4.
Lavelock finished the day with a 6-for-8 performance at the plate and five runs scored and four RBIs as the Tritons moved to 18-28 on the season, including 12-18 in the GLVC. Indianapolis moved its record to 34-19 and 18-12 in the league.
Senior Linds Prestia collected the win on the mound in the Tritons’ victory, allowing three runs on five hits, while striking out four in five innings of work.
Junior Steve Porter connected on a three-run home run in a five-run second inning by UMSL. Lavelock recorded solo shots in the first and second innings.
Senior Nico Gregali went 4-for-7 at the plate on the day with two runs scored and two RBIs. Porter finished with five RBIs.
In the second game, the Greyhounds scored once in the first inning before UMSL tied the game in the fourth on a single by senior Ryan Gray that scored Lavelock. UIndy added one run in the fifth and three in the sixth inning to take a 5-1 lead. Gregali then delivered a two-run single in the bottom of the sixth for the final score.
Sophomore Justin Rodgers took the loss on the mound for UMSL, allowing five runs on eight hits.
UMSL and Indianapolis close out the series with a doubleheader tomorrow beginning at 12 p.m. The games will also close out the season for the Tritons. Go Back
