Young Basketball Players Fill Gym

ST. LOUIS, MO. - The second session of UMSL men's basketball coach Chris Pilz's week-long basketball camp began this morning with a gym packed full of youngsters eager to learn and play. The camp, which runs through Friday, is at the maxium capacity of 124 campers.

Pilz has three goals for his campers this week, including having fun, learning a little bit about basketball and having the opportunity to meet some new friends.

Ricker Receives NCAA Degree-Completion Award

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis’ Leslie Ricker, who completed a four-year stellar career last year with the women’s basketball team, has been named a recipient of the NCAA’s Division II Degree-Completion Award.

The NCAA established the Division II Degree-Completion Award Program in 2001. The purpose of the award program is to provide financial assistance to deserving student-athletes with completion of a first baccalaureate degree. Recipients are students...

Cochran Just Misses Out on Final Qualifying Spot

EUREKA, MO. - Sophomore Tim Cochran of the UMSL men's golf team finished as the first alternate, one shot out of the third and final qualifying spot at the U.S. Amateur Public Links Qualifying, held June 24-25 at the Aberdeen Golf Club in Eureka, Mo.

Cochran shot rounds of 69 and 72 for a score of 141.

Senior Matt Thomas also competed in that event and earned a top 10 finish, placing ninth with rounds of 75 and 71 for a 146 total.
