COMMUNITY SERVICE

ABOUT

Missouri-St. Louis student-athletes do a lot more than win games and earn degrees. They also play an active role in community service projects. It is part of the athletic department's philosophy of giving back to a community that has given so much to the university, while also exposing student-athletes to the rewarding experiences that come from helping and interacting with others.

SAAC Volunteers for Habitat for HumanitySAAC VOLUNTEERS FOR HABITAT FOR HUMANITY

ST. LOUIS, MO. - More than a handful of Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) members, along with advisor Harry Harris, spent a day volunteering for Habitat for Humanity last Friday.

Matt Winslow and Tim Cochran of men's golf, Megan Riggs of softball, Stephanie Thompson of women's tennis, Anne Nesbit (SAAC President) of women's soccer and Ryne Bechtel and Cody Kliethermes of men's basketball all volunteered in the JeffVanderlou area and assisted with a variety of projects. The student-athletes assisted with roofing work, including putting down new shingles and hanging siding, cleaning areas in the houses that were still full of boxes and left over scraps, installing tankless water heaters and painting stair banisters.
